Acu Postures
Yoga Teacher Training
(RYT 200)
2025 Training DatesStill TBD
WE ARE CONVINCED that anyone who reads carefully through the information on this page will recognize that this training has a level of comprehensiveness and depth that they are not likely to find anywhere else. However, this training also has a simplicity built within its very practical teaching approach. To paraphrase Albert Einstein, 'If something cannot be explained simply, then it has not been understood well enough.'
But we go beyond explaining concepts and theories based upon the meridians, TCM and Ayurvedic theory. In addition to clear teaching expositions, we also give you hands-on experience of the healing truths you will learn.
Thus, the first half of the training begins within another training, a training in two therapeutic bodywork* modalities. Shiatsu & Thai Yoga Massage; and those modalities are coupled with the meridian & elemental energy theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Indian Ayurveda.
("Bodywork" is a term often used for therapists that use techniques like TYM and Shiatsu, among others.)
Having these amazing foundations, you will then learn how to apply this knowledge as a unique yoga teacher in the second half of the training. This means that you will become a teacher that not only knows how to guide students through yoga postures, but also knows exactly what meridians those postures activate; along with their corresponding, healing, elemental energies.
If you are like most yogis who want to really get into the deeper aspects of how yoga works its magic and how to most effectively and efficiently get it to do just that, then you might already know enough to want to get started. Nevertheless, to get a bigger overview of the first half of this training, as it regards the powerful healing modalities of meridian bodywork, Click Here.

New Students Please Note
Some people taking this training will only be doing the first half of the training, as they prefer to work one-on-one with clients as a therapeutic body-worker, rather than a yoga class teacher. But, ultimately, if you really want to immerse yourself into the healing arts of yoga, and perhaps even make it a full-time life path (career) then, the way these two trainings are combined as one, will give you the foundations to dive right in. Not only will you have a powerful launch into these healing arts, but it is very likely that you will quickly be recognized as a yoga teacher and body-worker that is operating at another level.
And, don' forget, when you want to take the healing a whole lot further for individual students, you can offer them Thai Yoga Massage (aka body-work). And frankly, if having a sufficient income to live comfortably as a yoga teacher / body-worker is a concern, it will be through your TYM clients that you can actually make a significant living. For, to be honest, (and as any yoga teacher will tell you) just teaching yoga classes only provides pocket change for most teachers. So most people who teach yoga only do it for the love of yoga, not for the money as you simply can't live make a comfortable living by teaching yoga alone (unless you write a best selling book or something and become a famous guru). However, as both a yoga teacher and a body-worker, you can have each modality sending clients to the other. Yoga classes will easily start to send people your way for body-work and from treating your clients with body-work you will be able to recommend to them the perfect type of yoga classes to enhance and maintain the healing that you your body-work has given them.
Graduate With Actual Experience!
As mentioned above, within the first half of training you will already have a deeper understanding of the goals of asana-yoga and a truer understanding of "proper alignment" as it ultimately relates to the meridians (the energies channels of the body accessed and activated through yoga postures, Ayurveda, TCM, TYM, Shiatsu and so many other wising healing modalities all across Asia.
Furthermore, you will have developed in the first half of training a hands-on sensitivity to do great yoga posture adjustments; a skill that even most experienced yoga teachers rarely develop, if ever.
But, not only that, our Bali training campus operates a Yoga & Spa Retreat that coincides with the first half of this training. So what does that mean to you? Well, the way this retreat works is that a major perk for those on retreat is that get to be daily guinea yogis for you to practice. Furthermore, as stated above, we don't want you to just come to Bali and only experience the training. We want you to take part in some of the excursions those on retreat will be having as well as participate in the daily yoga classes we offer them. Furthermore, you will become a certified practitioner of Thai Yoga massage as part of your training. But, as a TYM practitioner, you should become very familiar with how the massage should feel and affect your self. Therefore, you will also be receiving this amazing and therapeutic massage quite often as part of your training. Also, Bali is full of other amazing spa experiences that you will have free time to experience as well.
Again, we'd like to emphasize that because of your meridian and acupressure foundations (gained via the first half of training), this will easily enable you to transition into the yoga posture teaching aspects (as well as yogic philosophy) in the second half of training; and with a much greater understanding of what yoga postures are meant to accomplish for yourself and others. Far more than greater flexibility, strength and balance, yoga postures can literally change your experience of life and help you to cultivate the essence of all of the world's greatest spiritual teachings: the virtues! This is a very deep concept that we do not have time to go into here, but in essence let's just say for now that yoga postures, that truly effect the meridians and coupled with the Ayurvedic philosophy of the Panch Maha Bhuta (Five Great Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Space) it can literally help you become a better person (as well as your future students). This is the highest and yet most practical aim of yoga (including the postures and other body-work practices you will learn). By opening and balancing the meridians, yoga brings out the best of the five great elements within you. You will find that you become more peaceful & kind (water), more persevering and joyful (fire), compassionate & grounded (earth), discerning and disciplined, (air), confident & courageous (space) and, all in all, much, much more aware!
"Balinese Style," if you know what it is, then you already know the type of place you would like to stay; and where you stay can play a very big part in your overall experience of Bali. Therefore, although we already have some great Balinese Style rooms already reserved for our students, we are also perfectly fine with allowing our students to choose their own lodging; especially if price is -or is not- an issue. For example, after the cost of a flight and the retreat, some people may need a very cheap place to stay; while others may want to take the opportunity to spend a little more and stay in an extra-magical place that would never be an option for them back home. Nevertheless, we are certainly not leaving you on your own to find lodging. If you want to choose one of the lodges we have already reserved, we got you covered! Or, if you want to look into some other options, we are still here to help! For starters, just go to this link to get a closer look at our options, and some other awesome options, as well.
Food
I know it may sound exaggerated, but so many of the restaurants in Ubud seem like holy places; too good to just eat there, nor do we. We love to hang out for as long as we can, soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying the Balinese hospitality which is second to none! If you have taken our training in India, you know that meals were covered, but in Bali it just doesn't make sense. There are so many places you can go and the budget range is just as vast. However, for most westerners the prices you find most anywhere will still seem pretty great! Expect to pay as low as $3 (USD) for a good meal on the low end, and if you pay $10 or more for a meal its probably going to be fantastic! Nevertheless, about $6 will get you something very satisfying for both your taste buds and your eyes, as presentation is a huge part of any Balinese experience.
Flight Info
You will have to get your own flight, but a recent check on cheap0air.com and similar search engines is currently turning up flights that cost under $1000 -round trip!- from mid-west US and CAN, 750E from London, and under $200 from Perth, AUS and, Madras, India.
VISA On Arrival
There is a long list of countries, from around the world, wherein citizens usually do not need a pre-ordered VISA to enter Bali, but can opt for the V.O.A. instead. Check the list.
Passport
If you don't have a passport you will want to start working on that pretty soon as it can take 4 to 6 weeks; and even longer if there are any glitches in the process.
This video is 90% about Ubud, Bali (where our training and retreat take place) and at about 1:25 she begins to explain why I also make our lodging options optional. She also has lots of other great recommendations for Ubud. However, unless you come from a country where you are accustomed to driving on the left side of the road, I beg you not to follow her advice about getting a scooter; unless you also have lots of in-traffic scooter or motorcycle driving experience.

Deposit is non-refundable, but can be used toward a future Yoga Training, Thai Massage training, Yoga Retreat or other programs offered by CYS. if you are unable to come to the initial training intended. Also, any amounts already paid towards the tuition of the training are technically non-refundable if the request for a refund is made within 60 days of the training commencement. However, if this were to happen, the amount can still be used towards a future training or retreat. Nevertheless, one can still request a refund after the 60 day deadline and we will do our best to grant it, or some portion of it. However, we will be under no obligation to do so; and, if we choose to do so, it could take up to 9 months for the full dispersal of the refund and it may come in increments. In summary, in this training you won't just learn how to teach yoga postures well; which would be an enormous understatement. You will also know what meridians you are activating, as well as their corresponding elemental, healing and edifying energies. Furthermore you will be able to teach "Meridian Yoga" along w/ Acupressure; which we refer to as Acu-Postures (TM). This is a rare and unique skill that will have your students coming to realize that they have found a truly healing yoga teacher ~ in you!
